The Things That Last Forever

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” — Matthew 24:35 (NKJV)

We spend so much of our lives chasing things that don’t last—money, possessions, recognition, and success. While none of these are inherently wrong, they are temporary. Jesus reminds us that everything in this world will one day pass away, but His Word will stand forever.

God calls us to invest in what has eternal value: His Word, our relationship with Him, the souls of people, and the love we show others. Every act of obedience, every prayer offered in faith, every seed of the gospel planted in someone’s heart has lasting significance.

When life feels uncertain, anchor yourself to what never changes. God’s promises remain true, His love never fails, and His kingdom will never end. Build your life on the eternal, not the temporary.

Father, help me focus on the things that last forever. Teach me to treasure Your Word, love people well, and invest my life in Your eternal kingdom. Keep my heart fixed on what matters most. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
