Time to Get Out of the Rut
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?” — Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)
We all find ourselves in ruts. Sometimes it’s spiritual dryness, a routine that has replaced passion, or simply carrying yesterday’s burdens into today. The danger of a rut is that we become comfortable where God is calling us to grow.
God told Israel not to live in the memories of the past, whether victories or failures. He was doing a “new thing,” and they needed eyes of faith to see it. The same is true for us. Satan wants us stuck in regret, fear, and complacency, but Christ calls us forward.
Getting out of the rut begins with one step of obedience. Spend time in God’s Word, return to prayer with expectation, forgive where needed, serve someone else, and trust God for fresh strength. You don’t have to stay where you’ve been. The God who saved you is also the God who transforms you daily.
Today, refuse to settle for spiritual stagnation. God’s mercies are new every morning, and His plans for you are still unfolding.
Remember: “A groove turns into a rut, and a rut turns into a grave.” — Brad Prator
Heavenly Father, I’ve grown comfortable in places You never intended me to stay. Shake me from complacency and renew my passion for You. Help me leave behind the past and walk faithfully into the new things You have prepared for me. Fill me with courage, hope, and a fresh desire to follow Jesus. In Your name we pray, Amen.
Team Wade loves you and there’s nothing you can do about it. ❤️👊
