When the Enemy Never Rests

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)

The enemy never seems to take a day off. He looks for opportunities to discourage us, distract us, divide us, and pull our eyes away from Jesus. But we must remember: our enemy may never rest, but neither does our God.

We are not called to live in fear of the enemy, but to remain alert and stand firm in Christ. When temptation comes, stand. When discouragement comes, pray. When lies come, open God’s Word. When you feel weak, remember that your strength comes from the Lord.

The enemy may keep fighting, but Jesus has already won the victory. So stay on your knees, stay in the Word, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.

Prayer

Lord, help me remain spiritually alert. Give me strength to recognize the enemy’s attacks and wisdom to stand firmly in Your truth. Keep my eyes on Jesus and my heart anchored in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
