Being a Spiritual Leader
“But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” — Matthew 23:11-12 (NKJV)
A spiritual leader is not someone who seeks attention or recognition. In God’s kingdom, leadership begins with humility and service. Whether you lead your family, a ministry, or simply influence those around you, your greatest qualification is a heart that follows Christ.
Jesus did not lead by demanding to be served but by serving others. A spiritual leader prays, studies God’s Word, sets a godly example, and points people to Christ rather than to themselves. Leadership is less about a title and more about a testimony.
The world says leaders climb to the top. Jesus says leaders kneel to serve. As we faithfully obey God and care for those He has entrusted to us, we become the kind of leaders who leave a lasting spiritual legacy.
Heavenly Father, help me to lead with humility, wisdom, and love. Teach me to serve as Jesus served and to be an example of faithfulness to those around me. Give me the courage to stand for truth and the compassion to care for others. May my life point people to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
