A Heart Set Apart

“Set sexual immorality in the light of the Holy Spirit and see what a filthy thing it is.” — Charles Spurgeon

“God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:3–5 NLT

Every day presents a choice: God’s will or my will. Pursue the flesh or surrender to the Spirit. Sexual purity may be one of the fiercest battles of our generation, but it’s not unwinnable. Victory doesn’t begin with willpower, it begins with want-to. A heart that wants to look like Jesus. A mind that desires to honor Him. And that kind of heart is only shaped through time Time in prayer (where our desires are re-centered), Time in the Word (where truth overcomes temptation), Time with godly people (where iron sharpens iron). Sanctification isn’t an instant transformation. It’s a daily decision. And purity isn’t about perfection, it’s about pursuit. So today, may we fix our focus not on our failures, not on the world’s lies, but on the holiness of God. Because when we see our sin in the light of the Holy Spirit, we begin to understand how much more beautiful a life surrendered to Jesus really is.

Father Renew our minds. Purify our hearts. Set our eyes on You. Let our lives be marked by honor, not passion by pursuit of Christ, not pursuit of self. Fix our thoughts on what is holy and teach us to live like we belong to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
