Pray for One Another
We are encouraged to pray for our character, our needs, and our leaders. But that is not all. We are also instructed to pray for others around us who are struggling with sin. God calls us to pray for our brothers and sisters, not only to bless them when they are faithfully serving Him but also to lift them up in prayer when they are struggling. The Word of God instructs us to pray for those we love, even when they are clearly in the wrong.
In other words, rather than arguing with or gossiping about someone who may be misguided at the moment, we should pray for that brother or sister. Through our prayer, God can show mercy to our loved ones, change their hearts, and guide them. Prayer truly accomplishes miracles in our lives and in the lives of others.
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” - Romans 8:26 NLT
Our prayers can literally save lives. We should never underestimate the power of a righteous person’s prayer.
