Fixing Our Eyes on the Eternal
In 2 Corinthians 4:17–18, we are reminded, “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
The apostle Paul also wrote, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love” (Romans 8:38).
God is infinitely wiser than we are, and if He tells us not to do something, it is always for a good reason.
We must remember that God loves us and is always working for our eternal benefit, even when our present circumstances feel difficult.
Let’s rock the day with thanksgiving!
