Hearing God’s Voice

“God is always ready to speak with you when you are prepared to hear.” — Charles Spurgeon

“And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” - ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30:20–21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“When the student is ready, the teacher appears.”

At 63 years old, I have never believed the above statement to be more true. I also believe that with age should come wisdom, and wisdom should tell us that God is always ready to speak. It is we who are not always ready to listen. Wisdom should also remind us that it is not just about hearing the voice of God, it is about obeying what He tells us to do.

We cannot stress enough how important it is to be tuned in to God’s voice. It is through these divine whispers and commands that we find clarity, peace, and direction for our lives. As we read God’s Word, let us be open-hearted and ready to embrace the wisdom He offers.

Be still and know that He is God!
