Peace Through Grace

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — Romans 5:1 (NKJV)

Romans 5 reminds us that our relationship with God is not based on our performance but on His grace. Because we have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ, we are no longer enemies of God, we have peace with Him. That peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is the assurance that we belong to Him.

Paul also teaches that trials have purpose. When we endure suffering with Christ, God uses it to produce perseverance, character, and hope. Our hope is secure because God’s love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

The chapter reaches its climax by contrasting Adam and Christ. Through Adam, sin and death entered the world. Through Jesus, grace, righteousness, and eternal life are freely offered to all who believe. Where sin increased, God’s grace proved even greater.

Today, rest in the finished work of Christ. Walk in the peace He purchased, endure hardships with hope, and rejoice that His grace is greater than your greatest failure.

Heavenly Father, thank You for justifying me through faith in Jesus Christ. Thank You for the peace, hope, and grace You have given me. Help me to trust You in every trial and to live each day rejoicing in the gift of eternal life through Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
