The Highest Purpose

One of the clearest statements of a believer’s purpose is found in The Gospel of Matthew 22:37; Jesus Christ says the greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind.

This shows that the highest purpose of a follower of God is not success, recognition, or even activity in ministry. The deepest purpose is relationship; loving God fully and letting that love shape everything we do.

When our hearts are centered on God:

• Our actions become acts of worship.

• Our love for others grows naturally.

• Our lives begin to reflect God’s character.

Another powerful reminder appears in 1 Corinthians 10:31: “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Even ordinary things; school, friendships, work, helping others; can become meaningful when they are done to honor Him.

Ask yourself today: Is my life pointing back to God? The highest purpose of a God follower is simple but deep; to love God completely and live in a way that brings Him glory.
