Light of the world

Light of the World, True Light,

You give me courage to turn around

And walk back to the beginning

When I admit and see that I’ve chosen

A path You didn’t ask me to walk,

That life stealing path I chose without You.

And as I turn, Your True Light shines

Right where my foot needs to land

On my way back to the beginning, to You,

Making my heart a tiny bit more pure,

Like Your heart.

Light of the World, True Light,

You give me faith to chose the path

You designed for me before I was born.

Just one step, the step that determines

The direction You desire for me,

Delights You.

I feel like a child learning to walk and

I can hear You applaud,

Making my heart a tiny bit more strong

Like Your heart.

Light of the World, True Light,

You give me strength to walk

The very long road of obedience.

You give me Yourself and call me Your friend

Walking beside me, as my Protector, my Guard,

Your True Light shining on each next step.

And Your hand is there always for mine

When I fall or tremble,

Making my heart a tiny bit more humble, like your heart.
