Old Things Have Passed Away

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

When we truly come to Christ, we are not simply given a fresh start—we are made new. The mistakes, failures, regrets, and sins of our past no longer have the authority to define who we are.

The enemy may remind us of where we have been, but Jesus reminds us of who we are becoming. We don’t have to keep living in yesterday when God has given us a new today.

“Old things have passed away” means we can release the past and walk forward in the grace, mercy, and purpose of God. Our history may be part of our story, but it does not have to control our future.

Today’s Challenge

Stop looking backward at what Christ has forgiven and start looking forward to what He wants to do through your life.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for making me a new creation. Help me release the past, walk in Your forgiveness, and live each day in the newness You have given me. Let my life reflect the change You have made in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
