Make Much of Him
“When a man admires himself, he never adores God.” — Charles Spurgeon
“He must become greater; I must become less.” — John 3:30 NIV
Father, As we step into this day, we begin by simply saying — thank You. Thank You for life, for breath, for grace, and for provision. Thank You that You are exalted above all things — preeminent, holy, and unmatched in majesty.
We confess that self-importance can so easily creep into our hearts. But today, we choose to surrender. Help us to climb down from the pedestal of pride and elevate You alone. May Your desires be our desires. May Your will be our priority. May Your glory be our pursuit.
Let the power of Your Holy Spirit so fill us that we can’t help but proclaim the good news of Jesus to those around us. May we not be consumed with self, but consumed with awe — awe of Your beauty, Your mercy, and Your greatness.
We’ve seen You move before. Show us more.
We’ve tasted Your goodness. Let us hunger for more.
We adore You, Lord. Help us adore You more deeply still.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
