Choose Your Circle Wisely

“Choose the best friends you can, then follow them no farther than they follow Christ.” — Charles Spurgeon

“Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.” - Proverbs 13:20 NLT

I’ll never forget my parents always telling me as a kid to choose my friends wisely. And still today at 62 years of age, it stands true. The Bible says to be in the world but not of the world. Yes, time must be spent with those who don’t know Jesus in order that we might win some to Christ, but our closest friendships should be with those whose goal and desire is to walk us closer to Jesus. Not to mention, it’s our responsibility to walk them closer to Jesus as well. Today, if we’re struggling to walk close and clean, could it be that we need to make changes in the area of those we spend our time with?
