What’s the Condition of Your Heart?

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” — Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)

We spend a lot of time caring for what people can see—our appearance, our homes, and our reputation. But God looks beyond the outside. He examines the heart.

What is the condition of your heart today? Is it filled with faith or fear? Forgiveness or bitterness? Surrender or resistance? Love for God or distractions that have slowly taken His place?

A heart can look fine on the outside while becoming spiritually sick on the inside. That is why David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10 (NKJV)

Today, don’t just ask God to change your circumstances. Ask Him to examine and change your heart. A healthy heart before God produces a life that honors Him.

Prayer Lord, search my heart and reveal anything that does not belong there. Cleanse me, renew me, and help me guard my heart so that my life reflects You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
