Motivational Gifts
“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.” — Romans 12:6 (NKJV)
God has uniquely gifted every believer. Romans 12:6–8 identifies several motivational gifts: prophecy, ministry (serving), teaching, exhortation, giving, leading, and mercy. These gifts are different, but each has a valuable place in the body of Christ.
Some are gifted to boldly proclaim truth. Others naturally serve behind the scenes, teach God’s Word, encourage the discouraged, give generously, lead faithfully, or show compassion to those who are hurting.
The question is not, “Which gift is the most important?” The question is, “How can I faithfully use what God has given me?” Every gift is an opportunity to glorify Jesus and strengthen His church.
Romans 12:6 reminds us that our gifts come by God’s grace. We don’t need someone else’s gift to make a difference. We need to faithfully use the gift God has entrusted to us.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for giving each of us gifts according to Your grace. Help me recognize, develop, and faithfully use the gifts You have given me. Keep me humble, willing, and focused on serving others and bringing glory to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
