Retirement Is Not Retirement From the Kingdom

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.” — 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV)

Retirement may change our occupation, but it does not change our calling to serve Christ. The world may say, “You’ve done your part,” but the Kingdom says, “There is still work to do.”

Retirement can give us something precious—more time. More time to pray, encourage, disciple, serve, share the Gospel, and invest in the lives of others. We may retire from a job, but we never retire from kingdom building.

Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” — Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

Prayer

Lord, help me see retirement not as an ending, but as a new opportunity to invest my time, gifts, and experience in Your Kingdom. Keep me steadfast and fruitful until You call me home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
