Open Doors or Stronghold

“For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” — 1 Corinthians 16:9 (NKJV)

Every believer will face doors that God opens and strongholds that the enemy tries to build. An open door is an opportunity to walk forward in obedience, while a stronghold is something that attempts to keep us trapped, fearful, distracted, or defeated.

Paul recognized both: “a great and effective door” was open, but there were also “many adversaries.” Opposition does not always mean the door is not from God. Sometimes the presence of resistance confirms that what lies beyond the door matters.

Don’t spend all your energy staring at the stronghold when God has opened a door. Through prayer, faith, and obedience, step through the door He provides and trust Him to deal with whatever stands in the way.

Prayer

Lord, help me recognize the doors You open and refuse to be intimidated by the strongholds standing before me. Give me faith to walk forward in obedience and trust You with every battle. In Jesus’ name, amen.
