Abiding in Prayer
“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.” - John 16:23 NKJV
Did you know that whatever we are facing, prayer is the answer? It’s through prayer that the Father desires to draw us closer to Him and grow our faith. He also calls us to a lifestyle of constant prayer that brings His constant answers. That’s what Jesus modeled, and that’s what He wants for us.
To pray effectively, we must first know Christ. Why? Because Christ is the way to the Father. But beyond that, we need to abide in Christ—aligning our hearts with Him, keeping no unconfessed sin, and offering forgiveness to ourselves and others. Only then do we truly begin praying:
- Asking for our needs
- Asking according to God’s will
- Asking for good things
- Asking for our heart’s desires
When we abide in Him, and He abides in us, our heart’s desires align with His. So, let’s start praying!
