Gratitude Changes Everything

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)

Gratitude is more than saying “thank You” when life is going well. It is a choice to trust God’s goodness even when life is difficult. Paul didn’t say to give thanks for everything, but in everything. That means our circumstances don’t determine our praise—our Savior does.

A grateful heart shifts our focus from what we lack to what God has already provided. It reminds us that every breath, every blessing, every answered prayer, and even God’s sustaining grace through trials is a gift from Him. Gratitude strengthens our faith because it causes us to remember God’s faithfulness in the past and trust Him for the future.

Today, take time to thank God—not just for His gifts, but for His presence. A thankful heart is a heart that honors the Lord.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unchanging love, mercy, and faithfulness. Forgive me for the times I have focused more on my problems than on Your promises. Help me to cultivate a heart of gratitude in every season of life. May my thanksgiving bring You glory and encourage those around me to trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
