The God Who Waits

For always up till now,

You’ve told me to rest

And I get busy.

You asked me to be still

And I found reasons not to be.

You said You would meet every need

And I doubted You.

And yet…

You stayed.

You waited for me to come

With gifts in Your hands.

This morning I saw

The sun painting the trees with gold light

And I was in awe of Your beauty.

I saw because I was still,

Wondering how long You’ve waited for me to show up.

I long to live a life for You where

Being still

Is something a I do with joy.

In those moments are fullness of Joy.

In those seconds its just me and You.

And I’m listening

And it’s the most sacred place I’ve ever been.

Psalm 46:10 - Be still and know that I am God.
